Checkmate XV has spent a few months in the shed and now sports a new paint job, finished interior, and a new fixed prodder on the bow. 

She is now tucked up for the winter before heading off to the Primo Cup in February.

Looking at the 2013 Programme

Here is the Checkmate Sailing Team's provisional programme for 2013:

Mar 29-Apr 1 SNIM, Marseille
Jun 1            RTIR, Cowes
Jun 13-15      ICRA Nationals, Tralee
July 11-14      Dun Laoghaire Regatta, Dublin
Aug 19-23     Half Ton Cup, Boulogne

Last minute.. again!

Checkmate XV, in her smart new paintwork, is en route from Cowes to Dublin for the BMW Cruiser Nationals.

Paint and varnish

Well, the boat is out and being painted; the inside is almost finished and awaiting varnish... Hope to have some photographs to show you the 'New and Improved' Checkmate XV soon!

Looks aren't everything...

Despite last minute launching, and bolting bits of hardware on before the first start on Friday, Nigel and the team managed 6 straight 1st places at the RORC Easter Challenge to win their class (IRC 4B).

Easter racing

Well after much wondering what we'd taken on, and lots of hard work by the team at Corby Yachts, CHECKMATE XV will hopefully be heading for the startline for the RORC Easter Challenge 2012.

The Checkmate Team returns....

OK, it's going to be a challenge, and we don't know yet what sailing we'll be doing in 2012, but buying a boat is a good start!
